NOTA DE LA DIRECTORA
La importancia de este proyecto radica en visibilizar a los migrantes, mostrando su lucha como humanidad contra un sistema que construye o mira al migrante como amenaza. Me guía en concreto, la existencia de este hecho sensible y atentatorio contra la integridad familiar y el bienestar de los menores, aparentemente agravado por la condición de ser emigrantes , de ser madres solteras, mujeres víctimas de violencia y pobres.
Uno de los temas fundamentales que se aborda en mi documental es el cuestionamiento al sistema de protección de menores italiano donde se vulnera los derechos de los niños. Muchos de ellos son usados como piezas sin sentimientos y son enviados a casas de familia y en la mayoría de los casos entregados en adopción sin ser estudiado previamente su caso y saltarse procesos que ordena la ley italiana.
Otros niños son sometidos a la suerte y veredicto de jueces y tribunales que tardan años en tomar una decisión, mientras tanto los niños permanecen alejados y sin poder ver a sus padres.
Al retratar visualmente estas luchas diarias de familias y de mujeres, lo que pretendo es provocar el debate sobre los alcances y límites que los Estados tienen a través de sus leyes de protección a menores frente a los derechos de sus padres fuera de sus territorios; el cuestionamiento y reflexión de los personajes sobre lo que significa haber migrado, el significado de ser padres, de ser madre soltera en un territorio ajeno al tuyo, la reflexión de ser hijo y haber sido separado de un hogar porque una ley así lo considera. Buscamos sensibilizar al público sobre qué se esconde detrás de estos veredictos.
Mi película le da a mis personajes su propia voz, para que todos podamos reflexionar sobre este tema de derechos humanos y a su vez motivar a la audiencia a la urgencia de la acción.

The importance of this project lies in making the migrants visible, showing their struggle as humanity against a system that constructs or looks at the migrant as a threat. It guides me specifically, the existence of this sensitive and harmful act against the family integrity and well-being of minors, apparently aggravated by the condition of being emigrants, of being single mothers, women victims of violence and the poor.
One of the fundamental issues addressed in my documentary is the questioning of the Italian child protection system where the rights of children are violated. Many of them are used as pieces without feelings and are sent to family homes and in most cases delivered for adoption without having previously studied their case and bypassing processes ordered by Italian law.
Other children are subjected to the fate and verdict of judges and courts that take years to make a decision, meanwhile the children remain far away and can not see their parents.
By visually portraying these daily struggles of families and women, what I intend is to provoke the debate on the scope and limits that States have through their laws of protection of minors against the rights of their parents outside their territories; the questioning and reflection of the characters about what it means to have migrated, the meaning of being a parent, of being a single mother in a territory foreign to yours, the reflection of being a child and having been separated from a home because a law considers it so. We seek to sensitize the public about what lies behind these verdicts.
